Myspace Steampunk resource connections
Meandering about the vast cyberspace seeking to find things “steampunk” amongst the plethora of sites out there?
Here, I present a post of resource to you, my reader friend, seeking these resources.
First I will start with the lovely online community know as “Myspace” and will present to you groups, profiles and music pages parading about an extreme style of steampunk…
There are several groups available for picking on the myspace group selections.
the Malediction Society seems to be the biggest group thus far. Though localized within the L.A. area , it can provide a sense of community on Myspace, and perhaps give ideas for your own local steampunk get togethers. Arsenic Fashions, though less reserved for singularly steampunk, is a group of various fashions, tips and sites for obtaining accessories and presents once again another opportunity of community.
When searching all of Myspace for Steampunk, I came upon a page devoted to “All things steampunk” said to be the Myspace page for the “Steampunk Magazine”, which in turn, provides several links to other internet site destinations for music groups, magazines, steampunk in major shows, like MTV.
The Vernian Process, having more to do than just with the late great Jules Verne, is another myspace page presenting the collaboration of several steampunk musicians to create an ultimate sound. They call their work the Steamwave musical… More will come as that continues!
To truly showcase the steampunk masses, there are pages dedicated to the lovely ladies and handsome gentlemen of our fine fashion and community. These are pictures dedicated to the hottest or most innovative that present themselves for our viewing pleasure.
For the foremost of the musical assets of our steampunk realm, there are Abney Park, based on more of an “airshipe pirate” theme, Dr.SteelĀ with a rather strongly dominant tone, The Unextraordinary Gentlemen with their cool, yet minimalistic postpunk-like tones.
Though you might have found it difficult to find these resources, I guarantee that there are there if you take your time to look. Myspace, being the good online community it is will provide you with several outlets and connections for Steampunk fashion, music and networking! Don’t be shy!
